Massachsetts Islamist Sentenced to 17 years for jihad terror

An American Muslim who grew up in the wealthy Boston suburb of Sudbury was sentenced Thursday to 17 1/2 years in prison for traveling to Yemen to seek training in a terrorist camp with the intention of going on to Iraq to fight U.S. soldiers there. Prosecutors said that when that plan failed, Mehanna returned to the United States and began translating and disseminating materials online promoting violent jihad.

He’s out of jail on a technicality. He entered the U.K. illegally, being not only banned from entering the country because of his extremist views, but he entered using a false identity. He was arrested but, because it seems they didn’t fully explain to him why he was under arrest (as if he didn’t know) for three days, Salah left the UK a free man after he won an appeal against the decision by British Home Secretary Theresa May to deport him under a claim he posed a threat to the public. One hour. 18 cats. 18 rabies vaccines. 8 de-worming shots. One taken off to be spayed. 2,900 shekels damage.
My apartment is in an utter state of disaster. The mattresses are off the bed on the floor. The sofa is in the middle of the room. There are now-abandoned cat carriers littering the room. Frightened cats peed on the floor, on the bookcase where he gave most of the shots, under my bed, on the newly washed sofa covering (sigh).

Getting ready for the great kitty catching in my apartment

Tomorrow morning the vet will be making a house-call in order to vaccinate all of the animals and give them health certificates. This is the first step in getting them ready for the great kitty transport.

Islamist terrorists plotted to kill Crown Prince of Denmark in Mumbai-style attack

Four alleged terrorists targeted Danish Crown Prince Frederik as part of their planned revenge attack on a newspaper that printed cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed, a court heard today.
The suspects intended to attack the offices of Politiken in a Mumbai-style terror attack when the crown prince was handing out awards, it was claimed.
The men were arrested on their way to the ceremony which eventually took place at the paper as planned.
The four men – three Danish citizens and one resident of Sweden – are accused of terrorism and illegal possession of weaponry.

Wow. “There were just piles of hail,” said Maribel Martinez with the Amarillo/Potter/Randall Office of Emergency Management. “Some of the cars were just buried in hail and people were trapped in their cars.” Some of drifts of golf-ball sized hail were pushed by flash-flood waters into huge piles waist and shoulder high on one Texas highway. “We’ve got five, 6-foot high icebergs along the roadway,” Braun said. “If we get another rainstorm it will flood again.”
