REAL Video of Gaza Flotilla attacks
Here is the real deal folks. I’m putting up some of the video footage shot by Israeli troops as the operation to stop the ships from continuing and to bring them to harbour so the aid they were carrying could be checked (to insure no weapons and so forth were in it) and then sent on to Gaza began.
Here you see the Israeli soldier being thrown off the deck (he is in critical condition currently) and the use of stun grenades and firebombs being thrown at Israeli soldiers by the so-called “peace” activists:
Here is close-up footage of the Mavi Mamara passengers beating the living shit out of the Israeli soldiers with metal poles, chains, chairs, and bats and so forth:
Here is video of the Israeli soldiers messaging (very politely) the ships prior to being required to board. Listen to what they tell them –and see above for the response:
Here you see badly injured Israeli soldiers who were attacked as they are airlifted off and some of the weapons on the ship that were used against the soldiers:
Have a blog? Blog it. Spread it. The mainstream media internationally is not showing this footage.
(I’ve changed the image, sorry to anyone (Ema) who may have been offended — the previous image I used was called “Truth” and is a famous painting from the mid-1800s currently on display at the Musee D’Orsay (but that also happened to be a nekked woman holding a light aloft). Let’s go with a more clothed and benign Lady Justice:

Israel went into a trap in every respect.

What a way to illustrate the 1960’s saying “Make love, not war!”.

what a poorly organized raid, absolutely terrible. These videos are fantastic, for they prove the following 1) the Gaza “liberators” had serious fire power 2) Any killings were likely in self-defense and justified 3) the BBC and CNN’s attempt to portray the “aid providers” as innocent kind-natured civilians is bullshit 4) overwhelming force and surprise are necessary in raids 5) Discussions of proportionality are always vague and only possible in hindsight

Here’s a video showing an IDF solider getting stabbed (00:02:30 mark):

WARNING: graphic.
This should be on every morning news show. Doubt it ever will be.

Thank you for letting us see what really happened.
The left wing press is printing anyway what their own ideologies wants them as propaganda to spread. Good job done IDF-Soldiers.

Israel once again has become a victim of her own restraint. While the complete action is certainly justified, the way it was performed must be criticized: the only time I have ever seen images like that before were images of American and British paratroopers helplessly being shot by German troops while they were hanging on to their parachutes during the invasion in France in 1944. Then the paratroopers were victims of shoddy planning, and here the Israeli navy soldiers are the same.
Israel obviously did want to act with the utmost restraint. The navy commandos rappelled one by one from the helicopters into a waiting frenzied mob of muslim savages, just the way the paratroopers in 1944 were helplessly gliding down into a bullet hail. Israel probably did not want to be seen conducting a military operation, but only a police operation such as containing a crowded but peaceful demonstration in the streets of Tel Aviv.
While we all know where that misguided approach comes from, it put the navy soldiers into terrible danger. Israel should have treated that flotilla as what it was: a hostile paramilitary invasion force. Boarding a hostile and potentially armed naval vessel requires completely different tactics: you make sure that you eliminate the thread to your soldiers as much as you can before they actually board. But here Israel wanted to avoid appearing too “belligerent” and paid a terrible price.
A few commentators in the media have pointed out what Israel might have done to eliminate the thread: use stun grenades, tear gas grenades and other non-lethal weapons to clear the decks of the ships before boarding.
Now I don’t want to be arrogant and appear that I know better than those navy commanders. As a former soldier and not a sailor, I am not an expert in naval operations. But I think I see why the operation was conducted the way it was conducted, and that is because of political thinking. And political thinking when making tactical military decisions almost always spells disaster.

David — good video pointer. If you watch it, notice the Israeli soldier being stabbed repeatedly with a knife and yet still not using his weapon as they were still on orders not to fire.

Sir John’s statement “political thinking when making tactical military decisions almost always spells disaster.” — 100% on target. John you are absolutely right. The commanders of this operation should never have placed our soldiers into such danger.

i am sure everybody saw this video 100 times. everybody knows that israel is not agressor in this situation and the fact of provocation is absolutely evident. still we are discussed as agressor and so on. its very unpleasant.

Leaving aside the fact that you can barely recognize anything on at least the first video, what would you do if soldiers of an enemy state enter your boat? Would you think they bring candy?
The Israeli soldiers didn’t even need to enter the ship.
They just needed to put a few holes in it. And then the ship would sink.

j, those on the boat received several polite notices that the ship was being boarded for inspection and to be diverted to another port. They had been told this for days.
There were people on the boat who wanted to create an international incident. There were also innocent well-meaning (but in my opinion, misguided) people on the boats who were, frankly, USED by this charity, which has proven ties to terrorist activity, including terrorist plots in the US.
Look at the composition of the UN, some of the biggest human rights abusers on the planet, and they could not wait to condemn Israel. My greatest distress is that my President Obama joined them.

You are surprised that B. Hussein Obama joined them?

Michael, Amie and J –welcome!
J — given that there have been 9 attempts to break the blockade by ship and in all the previous 8 of them the IDF did exactly what they were expecting to occur this time — entering the boats and through discussion and calm reasoning explaining the necessity of taking the boats to port with absolutely no violence ensuing. So no one would not expect these activist to behave in this way. And as far as boarding the boats and it being in international waters etc. this was all done legally and it is something the U.S. does with boats approaching its territory on literally a daily basis, as do many other countries. Boats are boarded, checked, stopped, seized and so forth if they are trying to enter prohibited areas, if they are carrying drugs or weapons and so forth. They are stopped and boarded if they are suspected of any of the above.
Good comments all through this thread and I’ll try to get to anyone I haven’t responded to.
