So because stress and angst my system is off and things happened a bit more quickly than they should have. The upshot is I now need to get the x-ray done this week, Monday next at the latest. So first thing this morning I called. No holiday to get in the way etc, thinking everything should go smoothly for setting it up for Wed. or Thurs. (only days the Tel Aviv branch is open) and…first they said they needed to call me back. So I waited by the phone. They finally called and said, dude there is a problem, we are fully booked. I explained the situation. They said they’d call back.

I (yes I am getting a clue here people) said no way I’m hanging around just waiting; I canceled all my afternoon meetings and took myself directly to my family doctor (who I really love) and explained what was going on. The secretary called out the doctor, the doctor had a cow, and told the secretary to call and tell them they better fit me in. She then said, if they can’t get me in to the Tel Aviv branch for this thing, they’ll try the Rishon Letzion (nearby city) branch which is open only on Mondays and Tuesdays. Despite loving my doctor, I could have choked her — if Rishon was an option why the hell didn’t they try them the last time! It is a major (major) schlep option, especially for us folks minus cars, but an option nonetheless.

So I left with the promise that if they couldn’t get through/get the appt today (the other folks were getting close to closing shop) they’d try tomorrow morning. I have to go back to the family dr. tomorrow definitely in order to get the piece of paper back that will let me get in to have the procedure.

About half an hour after I left my doctor’s office the original people called back and said “our next appt is for July 29th so you need to go to your family doctor and have them call and demand an emergency appointment.” Way ahead of you on that one, babe. And good thing too as it would have been too late in the day to reach my doctor and tomorrow I have to teach early. I’m clearly not attending the faculty meeting tomorrow and having to cancel my afternoon appointments so I can get back to the family doctor and, at the least, get the all-important sheet of paper back.

Update on cat and vet stuff and a cool compliment from Ronen in a bit after I go feed the outside critters.
