Listening to the radio every five seconds the details of the terrorist attack that took place an hour ago in Jerusalem changed: the terrorist was shot dead, no he is alive and taken to hospital. A taxi driver shot him, no a police officer shot him, no a taxi driver and a police officer shot him. And at first news was that it was only a police car attacked and that he attempted to attack an empty bus.

Now more reliable details are coming out. The man did indeed attack and attempt to attack a number of civilian vehicles as well as the police car. The tractor attempted to try to flip the bus which was not empty but rather filled will little girls in Purim costumes on their way to cheer up patients at the Hadassah Hospital for the holiday. Fortunately for the children, a fallen electrical post prevented the tractor from flipping over the bus. The electrical post being in the way gave the schoolgirls time to get out of the bus to safety. ZAKA operation commander Haim Weinrot said that “the girls were hysterical. They saw the enormous scoop heading toward them and saw death approaching, but they were saved at the last minute by the post.” Several of the children were treated for shock at the scene.

The cab driver who shot at the terrorist said that he saw the tractor speeding along the highway and then saw the police car fly into the air. He flipped it over twice, then continued dragging it toward the bus that was stuck in traffic.

The terrorist was shot at by both the cab driver and a policeman and he has since died of his wounds. Mayor Nir Barakat is calling for the terrorist’s home to be demolished, saying “This was an attack carried out exclusively for the purpose of harming civilians.”
